It's a fact. In order to have a respectable pec development, you have to put your chest through a great deal of discomfort by employing pec exercises that are proven for ramping up massive mass gains. So many folks place their faith on isolation based exercises hence they have an extremely difficult time growing a powerful chest.
What isolation based exercises am I referring to?
I'm referring to pec isolation exercises like dumbbell/cable flyes or pullovers. These exercises are great for adding variety to your training routine, but if you want to bring your chest development to the next stage, the following pec exercises will take you there within a fairly short period of time.
o Flat Bench Press
The standard bench press may be a simple movement, but make this exercise the cornerstone of your chest routine and it'll deliver the benefits to you in the form of an impeccable chest development.
o Bar Dips
Another simple yet powerful movement to help you build chest muscles in double quick time. I have a buddy who's a big advocate of this compound exercise and applies it almost exclusively year-round. The size of his pecs would knock your socks off!
o Incline or Decline Press
Although the flat bench by press is a complete pec building exercise, you can place more focus and ultimately build more mass, to the lower and upper portion of your chest by performing decline and incline press respectively. Get a decent adjustable exercise bench and you're good to go.
o Push-Up
One of my favorite pec exercises because it's simple and great for use in the pre-exhaust training method. In order to capture the most out of this exercise, ensure that you do not place your hands too far apart or you'll end up putting to much stress on your shoulders. The ideal position should be slightly more than shoulder-width apart and try to pause for a second or two before driving your torso back to the initial position.
